Adult Therapy (Short & Long Term)

I work with adults who may be feeling stressed, overwhelmed or seeking to find wellness in response to life’s demands. I offer a space in which support and skills can be gained when you feel unable to cope with daily demands, financial stressors, as well as struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, bereavement or life adjustments (relationship, employment, or health changes).

Although guided by a psychodynamic framework I utilise other techniques (Mindfulness, DBT, EMDR & others) to assist clients to gain new insights into themselves & current difficulties. I also work with those pursuing personal development.

Adolescent Therapy (Short & Long Term)

At times adolescents may feel stressed or overwhelmed, feeling unable to cope with school pressures and adjustments, peer relationships and bullying, as well as other life changes and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, divorce of parents, trauma, loss, and bereavement.

My therapy style is collaborative, creating a safe and understanding space where adolescents can explore new insights into themselves and current difficulties while being equipped with skills.

My relational non-judgemental and empathic approach encompasses Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and other techniques.

Holistic Wellness Workshops

I offer a space in which the focus is on holistic wellness; mind & body. The workshops are integrative to connect the mind and body. A vinyasa yoga flow is followed by a mental wellness session. The experiential workshop is an opportunity to not only learn but practice the skills needed to manage anxiety and other overwhelming feelings such as anger, loss, depression and more. Skills learnt include, but are not limited to, mindfulness practices and approaches to help quieten the over active mind, self-regulation skills, negative thought challenging techniques and emotional soothing abilities to assist in our daily relationships and lives.

Employee Wellness (Corporate)

Employee wellness not only boosts moral and wellness, but also contributes to the overall dynamic and functioning of the work team. All of us face daily personal stressors, but how do we best equip our employees to cope with these in order to better function at work and in addition to manage work stressors.

In my Employee Wellness I offer group experiential and informative sessions which assist people to better manage overwhelming emotions and stressors, learning tools such as mindfulness and intra- and inter-relationship skills that they can use daily to improve their overall wellness (mental & physical).

My Approach

My therapy style is non-judgemental, non-directive and empathic. I provide short and longer-term individual therapy. I primarily work from a psychodynamic framework, allowing the client to create some understanding of how past experiences may be influencing their current difficulties. Although guided by a psychodynamic framework I also utilise other techniques and skills which may be appropriate to the circumstances. These may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and EMDR (a useful technique for processing trauma).

My therapy style is collaborative, creating a warm and understanding space where clients can explore new insights into themselves and current difficulties while being equipped with skills in order to bring about constructive changes and alleviation of distress.

I work with individuals who may be feeling stressed or overwhelmed, feeling unable to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, bereavement or life changes and adjustments. Life changes and adjustments may be with adolescence, relationship changes, employment changes or health changes. I also work with those pursuing personal development.

I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Independent Practice Clinical Psychologist (HPCSA PS0137707).

Therapy Sessions

The first session allows you and I to meet face-to-face and establish a working relationship while discussing current concerns. This session also allows the ‘frame’ of therapy to be discussed, which is the session regularity, confidentiality, cost, method of payment and how a treatment plan is developed. Two to three sessions allows me to gain a better understanding of what you are experiencing as you discuss your current concerns and circumstances.Subsequently a treatment plan from which to move forward is discussed.
